I got a free first exam coupon from here & decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Took my kitten in for her first exam. Great staff & doctors. Everyone was friendly from the time I walked in to exit. No pressure to get anything extra. I left with a goodie bag with food, toys, a book about cats, & a month free of flea medication should I need it in the future plus a clean bill of health. Awesome place. My cats & baby love the laser pointer.
Sometime last week My dog was left in the care of my brother. And she had eaten an edible chocolate bar. She was so sick, drool was pooling from her mouth, she was unsteady on her feet and she vomited multiple times. I brought her in that night and the receptionist there was so sweet and understanding. The Veterinarian that helped my girl out was Dr. Karen Hume-Smith.I cannot begin to explain how helpful she was, there was no judgement when I told her what had happened, and when my girl had gotten the treatment she needed she even went to extra efforts and printed me out instructions on what to pay attention to and what I should feed her and how she should and should not be acting for the next couple of days. Now my baby girl is better than ever and I am so very grateful for the time and attention this Animal Medical Group paid to me and my dog.Thank you.
Great staff!! They show they are committed to caring for our fur babies by their kindness and attention to detail. They are courteous and listen carefully to everything before making a diagnosis. They understand the financial hardship some procedures may include and give options to lesson the blow. Thanks VCA!
I have been coming to this vet for a little over a year now. The staff has always been more than friendly but at the end of the visit I always feel ive been over charged. Which gets me to my review.. my dog was bit by a snake so I called the emergency vet number at VCA manzanita . The lady on the phone referred me to a pet poison helpline. She said talk to the helpline and then we will know whether or not the dog bite is severe. So I call the helpline to find out there is a fee of about 60 dollars for them to look into your case and tell you if the snake was poisonous or not. I feel that is criminal taking advantage of a desperate situation, and a way to get even more money out of me. What if my child was poisoned and I called a poison line only for them to ask for my credit card information in order to be able to tell me if my child was poisoned or not. Highly displeased. Not sure I'll be going back here.
I have to update my review since we recently had an emergency with our cat. Although the price of an emergency visit is a bit high here, our cat had severe urinary blockage due to crytalization. We were originally quoted 2500 dollars for hospitalization and treatment. When I explained to the vet that I couldn't pay that much up front they helped me a lot, and allowed me to put down a percentage to get him in so he could get the procedures he needed. After his stay they helped me figure out a way to pay the rest and knocked 500 off without me even asking. The best part of it though is the vet who helped us with our first follow up visit showed me exactly what I should check for if I thought the issue was happening again. Can't thank the people here enough.
