I'm sorry to say I wouldn't recommend them, unless the timeline for obtaining ashes or death certificates isnt a concern for you. I experienced a lot of miscommunications, evasive answers, and frustration. They dont have voicemail, and on three separate weekday mornings I was told during office hours by an answering service that everybody was in an all-day meeting and there was nobody who could talk to me until the following business day. The people who work at Traditions were always very nice and professional on the phone, but I kept getting different answers from different people. The worst example is that despite telling me from the beginning (and later telling my brother) that they would call when the ashes came in, and despite my pleas that our out-of-town funeral was fast approaching, they never called me. Their excuse was that nobody put a note in your file that you wanted us to call. Another example is when the death certificates were taking longer than expected, one of the things they told me was there was a problem with Placer County being slow. So I called the Countys Vital Statistics office and obtained the date the County received the paperwork and the date the death certificates were mailed back to Traditions: it was only a 2-day turnaround. My consistent experience was not receiving accurate answers from Traditions, and thats why I wouldnt do business with them again. It added so much stress that it wasnt worth the money I saved. I'm giving 2 stars because they offer a low price for people who don't mind doing all the followup work, and who don't face any timeline.
For the amount of time I worked here and helped out I must say I really liked this job and the environment and the experience building and the surrounding of the employees here , I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
. We used simple traditions services and all I can say is we give Nancy an A++++ for her caring and compassionate nature. From the moment we met her she was on top of everything. She expedited things and was on the ball. No pressure, or sales tactics. Nancy you were amazing ! You were so supportive and through this very hard time for us, your caring nature and taking control of all the paperwork put us at such ease. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Update: The owner called me and was willing to try to do what she could to make things right. She and I even had a long discussion about my experience, and she told me she would have a staff meeting and discussus with her employees what could be fixed.They pride themselves in being female owned.... However, they seem to have lost the female tact. They continued to say "the body" and openely complained about a past employee. Even the phrases they were using made me confused if the employee died or retired. I wouldn't recommend them. I put two stars because they are cheap. That's it.
I first met the owners of Simple traditions in the late 1990s when they cane to the nursing home I worked at to do sone marketing for the business. 20 years later I remembered them & called them when my mother died. They were so very kind and professional. They helped me during a very stressful time. I will always be thankful and gratefull.
